Fruit salad - Russian Appetizer RecipeHow to Cook & Prepare Fruit salad: Wash and peel the fruit, remove the core and seeds and dice. Before serving sprinkle the fruit with powdered sugar and a dash of salt. Combine lemon juice and mayonnaise and moisten the fruit. Arrange in a salad bowl; sprinkle with finely shredded orange rind. Reserve some of the fruit for garnishing. Stewed prunes, grapes or berries may also be used as garnishing. All the ingredients except the apples can be varied in season (peaches, apricots, stewed quince, strawberries, etc).
