Red cabbage salad - Russian Appetizer RecipeHow to Cook & Prepare Red cabbage salad: Wash and clean the cabbage; cut into four parts, remove the runt; shred
with a sharp knife or shredder.Pour over boiling-hot water, cover and
let stand for 20-30 minutes. Drain in a colander, Pour cold water over
the cabbage, drain again and squeeze. Transfer into a salad bowl and moisten
with vinegar. Add sugar and salt to taste, toss and set aside for 20-30
minutes. If desired, pour over salad oil and toss again. Serve with meat,
wild fowl, poultry or fish.
