Ukrainian pancakes - Russian Bread and Pies RecipeHow to Cook & Prepare Ukrainian pancakes : Carefully wash the millet and cook a porridge. Chill and rub through a strainer. Bring to a boil ½ cupful of milk and 1 tblsp butter. Stir in 1 cupful of buckwheat flour, make a thick batter and cool to room temperature. Add to the batter the yeast which has been stirred in warm water, mix and set aside to rise. Then add the sifted porridge, the rest of the buckwheat flour, the egg yolks which have been rubbed together with the sugar, salt and warm milk. Mix thoroughly and set aside to rise again. Cook on a hot griddle. Before serving pour melted butter over. Serve sour cream separately. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
