Buckwheat Kasha with Mushrooms and Onions - Russian Cereals & Puddings Recipe

How to Cook & Prepare Buckwheat Kasha with Mushrooms and Onions :

2 ½ cupful buckwheat 2 onions
groats 1 tsp salt
50 g dried boletus 2 or 3 tblsps butter
mushrooms (or vegetable oil)

Wash the mushrooms and soak in 3 cupsful of cold water for 1 to 1 ½ hours. When the mushrooms swell, cut them into fine strips and return to the same water. Season with salt and bring to a boil, then add the groats which have been roasted. When the cereal thickens keep on the hob or in the oven for 1 to 1 ½ hours. Mince the onion and sauté in butter, then mix with the kasha.
