Millet, Rice, Barley or Oat Pudding - Russian Cereals & Puddings Recipe

How to Cook & Prepare Millet, Rice, Barley or Oat Pudding:

1 cupful cereal 1 tblsp bread crumbs
3 cupsful milk ¼ tsp salt
1 tblsp sugar 2 tblsps butter

Bring the milk to a boil, add the cereal and cook until thick. Season with salt and sugar and mix thoroughly. Put the cereal in a baking pan which has been buttered and sprinkled with bread crumbs. Bake until browned, unmould and cut into 5 or 6 portions. Before serving pour butter over. Instead of butter, hot berry kissel sprinkled with sugar, or sour cream may be poured over.
