Codfish Baked in Milk Sauc - Russian Fish & Seafood Recipe

How to Cook & Prepare Codfish Baked in Milk Sauce:

500 g codfish 25 g cheese
40 g vegetables and 600 g potatoes
spices for savoury stock 500 g milk sauce
60 g boiled butter salt, pepper
80 g onion

Spread a layer of boiled or mashed potatoes on the bottom of a buttered baking dish. Over this lay portions of codfish cooked in a savoury stock. Make thin milk sauce (see p.88). Add to it slightly browned minced onion and boil. Taste to correct seasoning. Pour the sauce over the fish, sprinkle with grated cheese and dot with butter. Brown in the oven. Serve in baking dish.
