Beef Stew with Onions and Potatoes - Russian Meat RecipeHow to Cook & Prepare Beef Stew with Onions and Potatoes: 500 g round or rump 1 bay leaf Wash and cut the meat into pieces (80-150 g each). Dredge each piece
with salt and pepper and roll in flour. Brown on all sides. Put the meat
in a casserole. Pour one cupful of water into the skillet, bring to a
boil and strain into the casserole. Add 2 more cupsful of boiling water,
cover with a lid and simmer for 2 to 2 ½ hours on a slow fire.
Add chopped and sautéed onion, browned chunks of potatoes and seasoning.
Braise the meat for another half an hour. Before serving sprinkle with
minced parsley or dill. Pass cucumbers, green or tomato salad.
