Mushroom Casserole - Russian Mushroom Recipe
How to Cook & Prepare Mushroom Casserole:
Casseroled morels are especially good but other mushrooms may also be
prepared in this way. Clean and carefully wash the mushrooms. Plunge them
into boiling water for 5 or 10 minutes. Drain and rinse in cold water.
(This stock is unedible.) Slice the mushrooms and sauté them in
hot butter in a baking dish. When slightly browned, sprinkle with flour,
mix them and add sour cream. Bring to a boil, sprinkle with butter (grated
cheese, if desired) and bake. Serve the mushrooms in the casserole or
baking dish.
