Broth with Cake Bread - Russian Soup Recipe

How to Cook & Prepare Broth with Cake Bread:

2 to 2 ½ litres broth 2 or 3 eggs
100 g flour ½ cupful water
3 tblsps butter salt

Heat the water, butter and salt in a saucepan. As soon as it begins to boil stir in the flour and beat steadily with a whisk for 1 or 2 minutes. Remove from the heat, cool slightly, add the eggs one at a time and beat. Mix until the batter is smooth. With a teaspoon or a dough bag with a ½ cm tube drop pieces of batter half the size of a hazelnut onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 200*C (395*F). When baked, the cake breads should be dry and two and a half times their original bulk. Put the cake breads in each plate of broth and serve immediately.
