Cherry soup with rice - Russian Soup Recipe

How to Cook & Prepare Cherry soup with rice:

300 g cherries
4 or 5 tblsps rice
½ cupful sugar

Wash and stone the cherries. Boil the pits in 4 or 5 cupsful of hot water. Add the sugar, bring to the boil and strain. Cook the rice till half done, drain and add to the cherry stock. Cook until the rice is soft, add the stoned cherries and boil 5 minutes longer.
