skim. Simmer for 1 ½ hours. Brown the chopped onion in butter,
add the red pepper and flour and brown for another 1 or 2 minutes. Add
to the beans along with the crushed or ground walnuts. Salt to taste.
Cook for another 15 to 20 minutes. Before serving sprinkle with the minced
